Claire Harrison
Claire Harrison is an accomplished artist and art educator with over 20 years of experience teaching adults and children. Her calm, encouraging approach empowers students to develop their own creative voice while mastering technical skills. Claire has guided students to achieve top academic grades and secure art scholarships, and her work is frequently chosen as inspiration for GCSE, A-level, and degree projects.
She teaches complete beginners and mentors practicing artists seeking to overcome creative blocks or refine techniques. Claire has led adult classes for more than a decade at The Guildford Institute and currently runs drawing courses at Leatherhead Community Association. Her expertise is widely recognised; she has delivered lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and public debates for art societies, schools, colleges, and adult education centres, and served as a visiting industry liaison speaker at FE level. She was also a trustee for Farnham Art Society for four years.
Alongside teaching, Claire is an established professional artist. Her oil paintings explore the fragility and resilience of ecosystems, blending observation with imagination through intricate, layered compositions. Since graduating with a Fine Art degree in 2001, she has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, with work held in public and private collections from the UK to China and Canada. Her creative process is slow and meditative, rooted in a deep respect for nature and a desire to inspire conservation and connection.
Whether online or in-person, Claire’s sessions combine technical guidance with inspiration, creating an environment where creativity flourishes. Claire shares her infectious passion for her subject through her bubbly personality. Book Claire for engaging art demonstrations, workshops, both online or in person, that nurture individuality and artistic confidence.
