Andy Lee
Andy paints in both oils and watercolours, in his studio, and on site (plein air) where the subject can be experienced, and captured. Often it’s the light, the subject, or the narrative that inspires the decision to paint. Sometimes it’s necessary to work in the studio when the subject requires more consideration or the weather's not suitable.
Andy is a multi award winning artist with work exhibited in the RI and RSMA, and has work in collections around the world. His work has been selected many times for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours open exhibition, where in 2022 his painting won the James Fletcher-Watson Award for 'best use of watercolour'.
In 2020 he was elected to full membership of the prestigious Wapping Group of Artists (WGA), a select group of 25, who paint in all weathers up and down the Thames, Thames estuary, and London https://thewappinggroupofartists.co.uk/.
Andy is an experienced teacher, and runs two, regular weekly classes in Tring, along with occasional workshops, and one to one sessions.
