Steve Woodhams
Steve is a self-taught, West Midlands based artist who specialises in his own unique take on cubism and abstract art. Often taking inspiration from environmental and conservational issues, Steve will be equally as inspired to create a painting inspired by his inner most thoughts, frustrations and personal day to day life.
Steve’s artwork teases the eye and the brain and over time allows the viewer to interpret the painting and impart their own perspective. Clever use of lines move the eye across the canvas and create depth in an otherwise two-dimensional image.
Steve is gaining high praise and recognition for his work and has enjoyed being part of a number of impressive exhibitions, including at the prestigious New Art Gallery in Walsall. He has also had work selected by the RBSA for their Friends Exhibition.
Steve is never happier than when he is talking with and teaching fellow art lovers.
“Without exception those that attended enjoyed the day immensely and have enthused about your work to others who wereunable to attend, and have asked for a repeat in the future. We do hope to see you again soon. Thank you once again, Steve.” – Anthea Arnot, on behalf of Pains Grey Art Group
“Your genre doesn’t figure widely in the club scene, and so it was a refreshing change from what we normally see. You worked in several different materials and techniques to show the potential in what you are doing, and with every decision you made, you explained the thought process behind it, which is important to those looking on. As I said in my vote of thanks, to build up a work from scratch with no reference material or anything to guide you is a gift that few possess, and the piece that you produced in so short a time, was excellent. So once again many thanks, Steve” – David McGuire, Chairman of the Walsall Society of Artists.
