Painting Holidays In France
At La Maison de St George

You will spend a week developing your drawing and painting skills whilst relaxing at the rural retreat of La Maison de St George. Staying in charming cottages on a full board basis in the heart of the Poitou Charentes region.

We will visit local places of interest and paint on location or make sketches to work from later in the week. All abilities catered for.

The aim of this holiday is to have fun developing your existing skills and experimenting with a range of media. The majority of painting will be in either Acrylic or Watercolour and a variety of techniques will be explored in the painting workshops. You will stay at La Maison de St Georges in the small village of Villemorin in south-west France.

Sat:Welcome.
Sun:AM, Drawing trip to local market in Aulnay.
PM, Sketching techniques and how to turn a sketch into a painting.
Mon:AM, Trip to Talmont for sketching and painting.
PM, Painting workshop with demonstration of materials and techniques to help produce your own paintings from a sketch or painting and to review work produced.
Tue:Free day, suggestions can be given for trips to local places of interest and fun activities.
Wed:AM, Exploring the area around the village and making sketches or paintings from a chosen location.
PM, Painting workshop
Thur:AM and PM, Trip to Zoodyssee - Animal Park, painting and sketching the animals.
Fri:AM, Painting workshop, including how to mount and frame your pictures.
PM, Exhibition of work.
Sat:10 am Farewells and departure.

Accommodation at La Maison de St George.

There are two main accommodation areas within the site. These are 50 metres apart within the grounds.

1. Wishing Well and Lavender Cottages (adjoining with inter-connected door if required).

Wishing Well Cottage has three bedrooms with family room (double and 2 singles), family room (double and single), twin room (2 singles).

Lavender Cottage is a one bedroom cottage with sofa bed in lounge (2 doubles).

2. Sunflower Lodge and Garden Suite

Sunflower Lodge is a two bedroom cottage with a double room and twin room (2 singles).

The Garden Suite has one en-suite bedroom (double bed).

Maison also has one en-suite room within the main house.

Costings

£590 per person includes painting tuition and accommodation on a full board basis for 7 nights.

£385 per person for non painting guests, accommodation and full board for 7 nights. Other informal activities, such as flower arranging and photography, can be provided for non painting guests.
