For as long as he can remember Bob has always had a love for art and a desire to draw and paint. Exhibiting from the age of fifteen, Bob has worked in Oils and Pastels and, more recently, taken to watercolour painting with a vengeance. Bob has continued to exhibit locally and nationally combining his love for scenery, wild life and nature, especially Ornithology. Not surprisingly his paintings reflect this passion. Never-the-less he has received no formal Art training and remains mostly self taught, built on (as he says) 'a God-given ability', which he recognises and is extremely grateful for.

Bob still works in most mediums but is now best known for his expressive watercolours. His work is well sought after and he has many commissioned paintings in various private collections. He has works in America, Australia and Europe as well as Britain.

He has enjoyed various "One-Man Shows", notably in the Leighton Buzzard Library Exhibition Area, as well as many joint Exhibitions with other Artists. Bob was elected Chairman of the Leighton Buzzard and District Art Society in 1999 and has been re-elected Chairman each year since then. During this period the Membership has grown from around 75 to it's present number of 165 (and rising)

Bob was encouraged to turn full time Professional Artist in October 2002, and is now also a Professional Associate with the Society of All Artist.

He has his own Private Gallery (Harris's Studio Gallery) open by appointment, which he runs with his wife Margaret and daughter Sharon, a Handcrafted Greeting Card designer. The Gallery is also used for teaching small group and one-to-one Art lessons.
