The beautiful local countryside around Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire was a natural backcloth from which artist Paul Dyson drew his inspiration for his interest in Wildlife and Wilderness.

He studied Art and Design at the Mansfield College of Art, taking up a career in Graphic Design and finally took the plunge to work full-time on his paintings.

Inspired by wilderness areas, Paul strives to capture the atmosphere of the environment and the beauty of the wildlife through his favoured medium watercolour enhanced with white gouache, which allows him to achieve the finest of detail. Meticulous observation and research have always been a priority taking him to many beautiful and remote areas of the World from watching Tigers in India to climbing 20,000ft in the Himalayas with the hope of seeing Snow Leopards.

Paul has already received considerable recognition through exhibitions nationally and the sale of original paintings at the Christies Art auction.

He has 52 published limited edition prints and has worked on collectors plates, greetings cards and art books sold Worldwide.

Through his work he contributes to many charities including Care for the Wild and the Cat Protection League and is a member of Wolf Watch UK, Notts Wildlife Trust and Care for the Wild.

Paul's show includes slides of many of his adventures in the Wild finding reference material and demonstrates a step by step from sketches and photographs to finished painting including many useful tips on layout, design, colour, reference building and how to achieving detail.
