David Boxshall has worked as a commercial illustrator for over 10 years in traditional artist mediums during the 80's and 90's, including gouache, watercolour, pencil, pen & ink and specialised in airbrush art. David is self taught and has illustrated over 200 scientific trends journal covers, as well as designing and illustrating logos, posters, greetings cards, and promotional material before the age of digital mediums became the commercial standard. David's style is surreal, abstract, realistic, as well as cartoon based. His influences are Salvador Dal, Escher and Andy Warhol. David is now working as a freelance graphic designer working solely in digital mediums for print and internet designs.
David has conducted airbrush demonstrations for many art societies for over a decade leading up to the millennium, demonstrating the basic techniques through to the advanced methods as well as explaining the materials and mediums required to achieve simple but effect artworks as well as more complex pieces.
Airbrushing is a very rewarding artists medium which can compliment other methods such as watercolour, acrylics, pen and ink as well as more craft applications.
