Carol Hill began painting in the 60's whilst living in the Far East and it was there that she was able to draw ideas from different tutors. She was initially taught to paint in oils at the Hong Kong University as well as learning to paint Chinese painting with Prof. Lau Ta Po. This led to experimenting with watercolour and other mediums. Carol's subjects are mainly landscape, seascapes, seascapes, flowers and still-life.

Carol is a qualified teacher in Adult Education and is a regular tutor, teaching watercolour and oils and giving workshops and demonstrations to various art societies throughout the country. She also holds residential courses several times a year.

Carol is a Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, a Member of the Society of Women Artists and a Member of the Society of Floral Painters. She is also President of Matlock Artist's Society.
